What is Placemaking? Placemaking is a multi-faceted approach to the planning, design and management of public spaces. Placemaking capitalizes on a local community's assets, inspiration, and potential, with the intention of creating public spaces that promote people's health, happiness, and well-being.
Main Street Eureka Springs Placemaking Current Initiatives Include:
The North Main Project - a project to drive pedestrian traffic down Main Street to North Main. It includes:
- Retouching & Cleaning the Rainbow Stairs 
- The Bike Installation Project to promote Mountain Biking 
- Artist in Residence Program to create a Public Mural 
- Repainting the Sidewalk with the Eureka Springs High School Art Class & Club 
Past Projects Include:
- The Award Winning Historic Information Wayfinding Signs 
- Starting the Native Plant Garden on North Main 
- Fifty Free Things Walking Map to Explore the District
