Urban Sketchers
Eureka Springs
A free monthly sketch group in Eureka Springs, Arkansas on the last Sunday of every month
1 to 3 PM - Locations Vary, see below
Everyone welcome. All skills appreciated and encouraged.
Placemaking, one drawing at a time
When you sit down to draw a place, you really see it. You notice the curve of a stone wall, how the light hits a storefront, and who stops at the spring for a drink. Urban Sketching slows us down long enough to fall in love with where we are, and that’s placemaking at its simplest.
We’re a group of Eureka Springs and Northwest Arkansas villagers of all artistic abilities who draw and paint together on location. We’re the only local group officially sanctioned by Urban Sketchers International.
Bring whatever you like to draw with: a pencil and a notebook, watercolors, or anything in between. No experience needed. Just show up and see what you notice.
What we believe
We draw on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation.
Our drawings tell the story of our surroundings, the places we live, and where we travel.
Our drawings are a record of time and place.
We are truthful to the scenes we witness.
We use any kind of media and cherish our individual styles.
We support each other and draw together.
We share our drawings online.
We show the world, one drawing at a time.
